Wendi Phoenix, LPC
Wendi received her Bachelor's degree in Counselor Education from the University of North Texas and after 15 years in the field, returned to college (as an older adult) to receive her Master's degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. In addition, she graduated from Medical Assistant school in the mid 1980's and worked in the medical field for several years. She is trained to use Autogen Biofeedback equipment and often uses creative visualization and deep breathing techniques to address and teach stress reduction.
She has a varied work history to include counseling, social work, education and business. Wendi has experience treating both adolescents and adults and specializes in helping her clients to heal from sexual, emotional and psychological abuse, anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors and grief. Wendi is a staunch advocate of empowering people to take control of their lives and to tap into their potential so they can be joyful, creative, productive and to live with integrity.
Wendi has 3 young adult children and one grandchild. In her free time and to relax, Wendi paints, cooks, does yoga, photography, helps one of her daughters to rescue, foster and re-home dogs and she absolutely loves to spend time with her family.
